I am

Just wanted to post some of the words to a song by Bebo Norman:

"Come along, I'll walk you through the world
And we will sing a different song
All along you have unfurled
But I will hold you from now on
I saw the day when you had lost your way
I saw the sun sinking low
I saw the night, remember how you cried
But don't you know you're not alone
No, you're not alone

I am in the sun, I am in the shade
I am in the light that love has made
I am in the cold, I am in the warm
I am in the center of your storm
I am in the fire, I am in the flood
I am in the marrow and the blood
When you cannot stand...I am

When the light won't come
When your breath is gone
When your hope is done
Just look at me, look at me "

Not sure if it is harder, or easier, to look up at God when you cannot stand and have fallen.

Here we go.....

Been waiting for a positive, somewhat happy morning to make my first post and this is it. Just finished another morning of painting on the outside of the old "addition" on the house. Call it Joshua's extreme makeover. Only painted for about an hour, but getting everything set and going up and down that ladder and getting it positioned isn't that easy when your old friend MS decides to help paint.

However, I got a good bit done. Of course there's tons more to do, but it's a start.

Also had a good evening last night - Braum's with Mark and a quick driveby dropoff at C&A's. Always fun to see those ladies (and that gent). They remind me of the precious gift of friendship every time we see each other.

Middle of the night, woke up thinking about that fellow that Jesus healed when his friends lowered him through the roof. After the ecstatic joy of being healed wore off (not sure if that took several days or a year), I wonder how he felt about life from then on. Did he look forward to each day as a literal gift from God, or was he worried about "what do I do now?" His identity had been in some way measured by his lack of mobility. Now that it was back, who the heck was he and what was he going to do with himself. Just a ponder that hit me in the middle of the night. Hmmmmm..... Wondering what it will be like when I get healed, either in this life or the next. To what degree has my self-image, and others image of me, been modified by my crutches and how will that change when I can walk?

Oh well, good enough for an old man on his first post.

TTFN.
